As part of his ongoing public engagement tour, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Wisdom Seade, has announced plans to establish a decentralized administrative office in Abor and its surrounding communities. This initiative aims to bring governance closer to the people of WASHA WEGO, easing the burden of traveling to Keta to access Assembly services.

The MCE urged chiefs and residents to support this vision by helping secure a location for the proposed office. He emphasized that this development will enhance accessibility and strengthen the Assembly’s service delivery in the area.

During the engagement, Hon. Seade also pledged to revive the Abor Market, responding to a request from the traditional leaders. He noted that rejuvenating the market will improve economic activity and boost the internally generated funds (IGF) of the Assembly.

At WEME Electoral Area, residents submitted key development concerns, including the need for:

  • Improved infrastructure for local schools,
  • Mechanized boreholes,
  • Street lighting, and
  • A fence wall for Weme M/A Basic School.

A major highlight of their request was support for the St. Agnes Vocational Training Center. The community appealed for the school to be absorbed under the government’s Free TVET programme, saying it would strengthen the institution and enable more youth to gain skills and employment.
