Keta Municipal Assembly played host to a significant event at the Municipal Assembly premises, where teaching and learning materials were presented to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and their wards. This initiative aimed to promote education and encourage beneficiaries to take their studies seriously.

The event, which saw the distribution of essential materials such as exercise books, textbooks, poster colors, maths sets, and more, was attended by key stakeholders, including the Municipal Chief Executive Hon Wisdom Seade, Municipal Coordinator Mr. Seth Kpodji, and Honorable Assembly members from various electoral areas.

In his address, the Municipal Chief Executive emphasized the importance of education and urged the beneficiaries to make optimal use of the materials provided to excel in their studies. He expressed his commitment to supporting the education of PWDs and encouraged them to strive for excellence.

The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, led by Mr. Fred Selorm Kasu, Head of Department, and the Unit Head Mr. Robert Kotey Ashie, played a pivotal role in organizing the function. The Disability Fund Management Committee also deserves commendation for their tireless efforts in ensuring that applicants received the necessary support to pursue their education.

A total of 27 students, comprising 16 females and 11 males, benefited from the initiative. The parents of the children expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive and the entire assembly for this laudable initiative. They prayed for continued support through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), which they believe will go a long way in empowering their wards to become productive members of society.

This gesture is a testament to the Keta Municipal Assembly’s commitment to promoting inclusive education and supporting the development of PWDs in the municipality.
