The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Keta, Wisdom Seade, together with the Member of Parliament for Keta, Kwami Dzidzorli Gakpey, has cut sod for two major development projects in selected communities within the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region.

The ceremony, held on Friday, January 16, 2026, was attended by Assembly Members, staff of the Keta Municipal Assembly, and community members.

The first sod-cutting ceremony took place at the Atiavi Electoral Area for the construction of a three-unit classroom block with office and store facilities for the Atiavi Glime-Atime M.A. Basic School. The programme commenced with libation and prayers for God’s blessings and the successful execution of the project.

In a welcome address, the Assembly Member for the area expressed gratitude to the Assembly and government for selecting the school for the project and assured that the facility would be well maintained and effectively utilized upon completion.

Addressing the gathering, Wisdom Seade described the projects as the beginning of a positive transformation in the municipality, noting that the benefits of good governance were gradually becoming evident across communities.

The Member of Parliament, Kwami Dzidzorli Gakpey, also emphasized that the government was fulfilling its development promises through tangible projects and called on residents to continue supporting and praying for the administration of John Dramani Mahama.

The delegation later moved to Seva in the Anyako Electoral Area, where another sod was cut for the construction of a community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound with staff accommodation.

The Municipal Health Director, Mr. Emmanuel Kona, expressed appreciation to the Assembly for siting the health facility in the community and assured that the CHPS compound would be effectively utilized to improve healthcare delivery for residents of Seva and surrounding communities.

Residents of both communities expressed gratitude to the Assembly and government for the projects and pledged their support to ensure their successful completion.
