A one-day capacity-building training programme on the rollout of the GHQR Code Payment System has been held for staff of the Keta Municipal Assembly as part of efforts to enhance digital revenue collection and financial management.

The workshop brought together executives of the seven Zonal Councils—Atiavi, Keta, Dzelukope, Afiadenyigba, Washie-Wego, Anyako, and Tsiame/Sadame—including Chairpersons, Secretaries, and Treasurers. Also in attendance were Revenue Collectors, Accounts Officers, Budget Officers, and Internal Audit staff.

The programme aimed to sensitize staff on the GHQR Code payment system, build the capacity of revenue collectors in the use of QR technology, improve Internally Generated Funds (IGF), promote transparency, and encourage the adoption of digital payment systems across the Municipality.

Facilitating the training, Mr. Solomon Kumahor, Business Development Executive at the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS), delivered presentations on the Ghana QR Code (GHQR), Universal Payment Number (UPN), GhIPSS payment processes, and the Payment Portal. Participants also engaged in practical sessions covering real-time transactions, invoice generation, reconciliation, and issue resolution.

The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to effectively implement digital payment systems to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the Assembly’s financial operations.
