The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Keta, Wisdom Seade, together with the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, and the Member of Parliament for Keta, Kwami Dzidzorli Gakpey, led a delegation of Assembly Members and staff of the Keta Municipal Assembly to cut sod for three key development projects across selected communities in the municipality.
The first ceremony was held at Abutiakope, where sod was cut for the construction of an ultra-modern kindergarten block with ancillary facilities for Anloga State School. The event commenced following a brief rainfall, which participants described as a blessing for the successful start of the projects.
In his welcome address, the Assembly Member for the area, Kofi Baccah, expressed appreciation for the selection of the school and assured the public of proper maintenance and effective use of the facility upon completion.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Wisdom Seade described the projects as the beginning of positive transformation within the municipality and urged residents to continue supporting government development initiatives. The MP, Hon. Kwami Dzidzorli Gakpey, noted that the government was fulfilling its campaign promises through tangible actions and called for continued prayers and support for John Dramani Mahama and his administration.
The Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, commended the people of Keta for their support and emphasized that the projects form part of the President’s broader vision to enhance education and healthcare infrastructure nationwide.
The delegation subsequently proceeded to Anlo Afiadenyigba, Tengekope, and Anyravase, where similar sod-cutting ceremonies were conducted for additional classroom blocks and a community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound with staff accommodation.
The Municipal Health Director, Emmanuel Kona, alongside traditional leaders and education stakeholders, lauded the initiative and pledged their commitment to ensuring that the facilities are effectively utilized to benefit the communities.
The projects are expected to significantly improve access to quality education and healthcare delivery in the Keta Municipality.
