The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Keta Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for the Keta Constituency, Hon. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, has commenced the distribution of relief items to households affected by recent flooding across the municipality.
The first phase of the distribution exercise, which began on Friday, 17th July 2026, covered the communities of Kedzikope, Horvi, Havedzi, and Seva. The exercise was conducted in a peaceful, transparent, and orderly manner, with beneficiaries expressing heartfelt appreciation for the timely intervention and support.
As part of efforts to strengthen the second phase of the relief exercise, Hon. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey has donated 250 bags of 25kg rice, 150 mattresses, 60 cartons of cooking oil, and 40 boxes of Wellington boots to support flood-affected families. The Member of Parliament also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that all affected victims across the municipality receive the necessary assistance.
The Keta Municipal Director of NADMO, Mr. Wonder Setsoafia Deynu, expressed profound appreciation to the Member of Parliament for his continued commitment to the welfare of flood victims. He also acknowledged the contributions of individuals, organisations, development partners, and other stakeholders whose support has been instrumental in the ongoing humanitarian response.

Mr. Deynu further appealed to the general public, corporate institutions, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), hospitality establishments, faith-based organisations, and other well-meaning individuals to support the relief effort to enable NADMO to reach all affected communities.
He reaffirmed NADMO’s commitment to ensuring that relief items reach every affected household and thanked flood victims for their patience, cooperation, and understanding throughout the distribution process.
The Keta Municipal Assembly and NADMO remain committed to working with government, development partners, and humanitarian organisations to provide timely assistance and restore hope to communities affected by the floods.
