The MCE, Hon. Emmanuel Gemegah and his management met with the leadership of the Local Council of Churches on key developments within the municipality and the role of the church.
March, being the Basic Rate Month, the MCE used the opportunity to highlight the need for the leadership of the various churches to sensitize their members on the need to pay tax (basic rate). The budget analyst, also explained the need for the church to register with the assembly. According to him, the Church stands to be exempted from some tax components such as property rate among others. Speaking on behalf of the local council of Churches, Bishop De-love August appreciated the new leadership of the Assembly for the meeting and promise to carry the message to all members. He again appeals to management for more engagements such as this in the future.
