Ghana Health Service, National Malaria Elimination Program, and Partners Launch Mosquito Control Initiative in Keta Municipality

In a collaborative effort, the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP), Zoomlion GH, and the Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit of the Keta Municipal Assembly have initiated a program to curb mosquito growth and reduce malaria transmission. The primary focus involves identifying, mapping, and spraying stagnant waters prone to mosquito breeding. A total of 709 such sites were identified and treated in eight communities: Keta, Nukpesekope, Anyako, Tsiame, Vui, Dzelukope, Adzido, and Vodza. This proactive campaign aims to significantly diminish malaria prevalence in the municipality.
