As part of efforts to safeguard public health, a comprehensive inspection of ninety-three provision stores was conducted. Nuisances such as dust on shelves, cobwebs, and dirty fly-proof nets were identified. Alarmingly, 178 expired products were discovered in 21 stores, including Beta Malt, Good morning oat, Bingo drink, Blue band Margarine, Tom tom toffee, and Remix spices. Immediate actions involved educating storekeepers on regular cleaning practices, and the voluntary destruction of expired products in the presence of Environmental Health Officers. This initiative underscores the commitment to providing safe and wholesome food options for public consumption in the Keta Municipality.”
