The Environmental Health Unit of the Keta Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Human Resource Department, has organized a one-day capacity-building training for Environmental Health Officers of the Assembly. The session was facilitated by Mr. Kingsley Yevutsey, a lecturer at the Ho School of Hygiene, and coordinated by the Head of Human Resource, Mr. Jones Nketiah.

The training was designed to equip officers with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills in environmental health management and effective service delivery. In his presentation, Mr. Yevutsey emphasized the importance of professionalism, strict adherence to sanitation laws, and the adoption of preventive measures to safeguard public health.

Participants were taken through key topics such as:

* Overview of Environmental Health and Sanitation By-laws and Regulations

* Legal Framework for Environmental Health Enforcement (Public Health Act, 2012 – Act 851)

* Techniques in Gathering, Handling, and Presenting Evidence

* Documentation and Preparation of Dockets for Prosecution

* Courtroom Ethics, Witness Preparation, and Case Presentation Skills

* Collaboration with the Police and Judiciary

The officers commended the Assembly for the initiative, describing the training as timely, insightful, and highly relevant in strengthening their capacity to enforce environmental health regulations and promote improved sanitation across the Municipality.
