The Keta Municipal Assembly has organized a comprehensive training and sensitization workshop on the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (GHANEPS) for key staff and stakeholders within the Assembly.

Participants included officers from the Procurement, Finance, Internal Audit, and Budget Units, as well as the Chairman of the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee and selected staff from various departments and units. The workshop aimed to enhance the capacity of staff in the effective use of the electronic procurement platform.

GHANEPS, a web-based system developed in line with Ghana’s public procurement laws, is designed to promote transparency, efficiency, and accountability in public procurement processes. The platform facilitates the entire procurement cycle, including the acquisition of goods, works, consultancy and non-consultancy services, as well as asset disposal.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Muhammad Abu Shiraz, who guided participants through the key modules of the system. These included user registration, tender notifications, preparation and submission of tenders, both online and offline tender evaluations, contract award procedures, catalogue creation and management, framework agreement development, payment processes, feedback mechanisms, and administrative reviews.

Participants described the workshop as highly insightful, noting that it provided them with practical knowledge and skills to effectively utilize the GHANEPS platform in their respective roles.

The Keta Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to fully adopting the system as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen procurement processes, improve service delivery, and ensure strict compliance with national procurement standards.
