The Keta Municipal Assembly has held a bid opening session for five major development projects within the Municipality. The meeting, which took place at the Assembly Conference Room, commenced at 10:40 a.m. In his welcome remarks, the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) welcomed participants and explained that the purpose of the meeting was to observe the bid opening phase of the procurement process. He emphasized the need for diligence, fairness, and transparency in all procurement activities.

The Procurement Officer briefed attendees on the process, stating that the Assembly issued a tender on September 30, 2025, covering five distinct projects. The tender was publicly advertised in the Ghanaian Times and on the GHANEPs website for a 28-day period, with submissions made entirely online through the GHANEP portal.

The projects under consideration include:

  1. Construction of a 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Anlo Afiadenyigba.
  2. Construction of a 3-unit classroom block with office and store at Atiavi.
  3. Construction of a kindergarten block with ancillary facilities at Anlo State School, Keta.
  4. Construction of a CHPS compound with accommodation at Tengeykope.
  5. Construction of a CHPS compound with accommodation at Seva.

A total of twenty-one (21) bids were received from various construction firms. After minor internet delays, all tender documents were successfully unlocked at 11:32 a.m. and handed over to the evaluation team. The Budget Analyst recorded the financial details of all submissions.

The Procurement Officer also introduced the Evaluation Panel, made up of representatives from the end-user departments — Health and Education — to ensure fairness and technical accuracy. The members include:

  • Mr. Nicholas Ayitey – Procurement Assistant
  • Mr. Hillarious Zonyrah – Assistant Engineer
  • Mr. Nimako Philip – Representative, Ghana Health Service (KeMA)
  • Mr. Mark Gemegah – Representative, Ghana Education Service (KeMA)

The Municipal Coordinating Director instructed the panel to submit its report by November 4, 2025, while the Hon. MCE reiterated the importance of proper documentation, accountability, and transparency. He urged the evaluators to conduct a fair and credible assessment to ensure that qualified contractors are selected for the projects.
